HydRoad
An emission-free energy network of both electricity and fuel.

About Us
We are building an emission-free grid of solar roads connected to hydrogen storage systems to transform how energy is produced, stored, distributed, and supplied to consumers. By combining multiple existing technologies, we have designed a system that supplants the need for the energy consumption of both electricity and fuel.
Relevant Challenges
Energy Storage & Management
Our system combines a hydrogen storage network with solar-integrated roads, enabling surplus energy to be stored and flexibly used across transportation and grid systems—ensuring 24/7 clean energy availability, all year round.
Charging Infrastructure
HydRoad supports future integration of both hydrogen refueling and electric vehicle charging from the same modular infrastructure—streamlining deployment and reducing the need for redundant installations.
Clean Energy Sources
HydRoad eHydRoad enables clean, decentralized energy generation by integrating photovoltaic and hydrogen technologies into road infrastructure. This transforms transportation corridors into renewable energy assets, supporting emissions-free power for mobility and beyond.nables clean, decentralized energy generation by integrating photovoltaic and hydrogen technologies into road infrastructure. Circular Economy
HydRoad is designed with modular, long-life components that support reusability, localized installation, and end-of-life recovery. This reduces material waste, enhances sustainability, and aligns with circular economy principles in infrastructure development.
Automated Systems
The availability of distributed, clean energy along roadways will enable future deployment of automated-systems with reliable, localized power access.

Network Infrastructure
We plan to integrate IoT and data infrastructure into the road network—enabling real-time monitoring of energy flow, infrastructure status, and integration with broader smart city systems. HydRoad is designed with digital connectivity in mind.
Network Security
Inspired by gas pipeline safety, HydRoad’s modular, grid-like layout enables compartmentalized energy flow with physical safeguards—similar to block valve stations—enhancing security and system resilience against localized damage or disruption.
Parking
HydRoad can be adapted to solar-covered parking areas, providing clean energy generation and supporting EV charging-infrastructure—turning static parking spaces into productive, grid-supporting assets.
Vehicle & Infrastructure Monitoring
Future versions of our digital platform are planned to include infrastructure and energy system monitoring, helping governments and operators track performance, optimize maintenance, and ensure uptime.
Accessibility
HydRoad expands the concept of “right of way” to include universal access to clean energy. Our modular design makes it possible to deploy energy systems in underserved, rural, and off-grid areas, ensuring inclusive infrastructure for all.
