UBQ Materials
UBQ™ is a bio-based thermoplastic that can be made from 100% unsorted household waste, including all organics and unrecyclable materials. UBQ™ can be used in existing manufacturing processes and is already implemented across industries to replace virgin plastic from oil-based resins. By using UBQ™, manufacturers are diverting waste from landfills and incineration, reducing the net carbon footprint of end-products, and supporting a circular economy.

About Us
Where there are people, there is waste. With so many of us, the amount of waste generated has reached 2 billion tons a year and continues to grow at an alarming rate. What if there was a way to put all this waste to good use? This is exactly the question that sparked the foundation of UBQ Materials. We set out on a mission to rethink the very notion of waste and turn it into something good, useful, even celebrated. For thousands of years, consumption was a straight line, and at the end of it was a pile of garbage. With UBQ, waste is not the end, it is only the beginning. The beginning of a new material and the building block of a world without waste.
Relevant Challenges
New Materials
The UBQ(tm) material is a regenerative bio-based and carbon-negative thermoplastic material that can replace carbon-intensive resources, like oil-based plastics, in production across industries.
Circular Economy
The UBQ technology converts residual household waste at the end-of-life, effectively diverting it from landfills and incinerators, into a new resource made entirely out of waste.
Sustainable Manufacturing
UBQ™ is compatible with a wide range of polymers as well as existing manufacturing equipment and processes, making integration into current industry practices straightforward. As a carbon-negative material, it can substantially lower the carbon footprint of the final product.
